Cycle counts that actually feed the board
Cycle counts fail the board when they are filed as a weekly packet and never written back into the location column. We set a same-day rule: if a count closes before 14:00, the inventory column updates before the outbound wave.
Not every SKU belongs on the board. We put on the board the families that cause dock arguments: items that arrive mixed, items that ship the same day, and items with two pack sizes in the same aisle.
Blind counts still have a place. They do not belong as the only method for a location that the board already flags as disputed. Disputed locations get a directed count with two people, then a note on the board stating who signed.
Packagegridline’s local tracking utility can hold the count notes on the workstation used for the board. It does not replace the warehouse system of record and does not move inventory in any financial sense.
